Media and Press Information Kaitlyn Buss Leadership Program of the Rockies to Host 20th Annual Retreat: “The Power of Freedom” DENVER, Col. (Feb. 9, 2012) – Hundreds of elected officials, activists and business leaders will attend the Leadership Program of the Rockies' (LPR) 20th Annual Leadership Retreat Feb. 24-25, 2012, at the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Col. Championing “The Power of Freedom,” the event will feature popular radio host Dennis Miller, Fox News Analyst Monica Crowley, entrepreneur and business leader Jeff Sandefer, energy journalist and Manhattan Institute Fellow Robert Bryce and others. LPR will be honoring Terry Considine, chairman and CEO of Apartment Investment & Management Company (AIMCO) with its Legacy Award. Considine has been an instrumental leader in Colorado politics and business for many years, and currently serves as chairman of The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, a director of Intrepid Potash, Inc., and member of the Board of Trustees of Colorado Christian University. He is also a director of the Considine Family Foundation, which makes charitable grants primarily in support of education. LPR will also honor the Douglas County School Choice movement of Douglas County, Colorado, with its Leaders in Action award. Parents of the Douglas County school district have worked together with their elected officials to knock down barriers to high-quality options for all schoolchildren to provide the most free, customized, efficient and accomplished public-education system possible.
