About the Program

The Leadership Program of the Rockies is America’s premier institute to develop, strengthen, train and equip emerging leaders to reach new heights in public policy and the political process.

LPR identifies and brings together emerging leaders from the legal, economic, business, political, nonprofit and civic professions to learn how visionary, principle-centered leadership can positively impact their community.

How Does LPR Work?

The Leadership Program of the Rockies consists of nine full-day sessions, from October through June.

Many of the most recognized and respected experts in the country – including experts on current events, leadership and the political process – lead each session. LPR students are of extremely high caliber and each year’s class is limited to 65 students to foster collaborative, participatory learning and to maximize interaction among students and presenters.

Who Can Apply to LPR?

Anyone may apply who is interested in making a difference in his or her community. LPR participants have demonstrated leadership, and have the potential to achieve even more! We are seeking motivated, capable men and women from diverse professional backgrounds and from all geographic areas of Colorado.

The criteria for selection in to the program will be an applicant’s real world and professional background, a review of their education, as well as involvement in community service activities.

Cost of LPR

The tuition cost for the 2017 - 2018 class is $2,150. The full cost of the program is $6,500 per person, but we are able to fundraise enough throughout the year to subsidize the majority of the cost. Students who are selected to participate in the program must agree to full participation in the program. Partial scholarship opportunities are available to those who may need financial assistance. We also offer payment plans.

Application Process

The Leadership Program of the Rockies has begun accepting applications for the class of 2018.  A selection committee comprised of public policy leaders from all over the state review all applications, with interviews scheduled in mid-September. The final selections will be announced at the completion of the interview process.
