Brian Watson is a Colorado entrepreneur, business leader and community supporter. As the Founder & CEO of Northstar Commercial Partners, Brian uses commercial real estate as a platform to create jobs and opportunity, empower people, and strengthen local communities throughout the U.S. The company specializes in buying, rehabilitating, and leasing up vacant or distressed office, industrial, and retail properties, and they currently own assets in 18 states throughout the country.
The company also acquires vacant or distressed assets, specifically in inner city neighborhoods or economically challenged areas, to re-purpose as charter school facilities in Colorado and throughout the U.S. Brian is a believer in helping to create quality school options for parents and children, and overall excellence in American education.
In addition to his role at Northstar Commercial Partners, Brian also serves as the Founder & CEO of the Opportunity Coalition, a nonprofit social welfare organization focused on facilitating a business-friendly environment that encourages free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and collaboration among diverse people. Through the Opportunity Coalition, Brian seeks to promote creative solutions, quality employment, and lasting connections for all Coloradans.
Brian was President of the 2015 Leadership Program of the Rockies class, and has been actively involved as a volunteer with a variety of community, non-profit, and political boards throughout the state.
Brian will soon be launching Mountains of Opportunity, a positive news initiative that will highlight the stories of innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators that are building a bright future throughout Colorado in all different types of industries and sizes. The show will air on major news networks including FOX, CNN, and MSNBC.
Brian is the author of “The 7 Rings: A Journey to a Balanced Life of Peace, Passion, and Purpose” set to be released in December 2016. The 7 Rings is meant to be an encouraging field guide for making life balance a reality. Bridging both the corporate and non-profit worlds, Brian challenges readers to discover their life's purpose and encourages them to live wholeheartedly in all that they do.
Brian spent part of his formative years growing up Olathe, CO, a small agricultural and ranching town on the Western Slope of Colorado. He is a graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder – BS with an emphasis in Real Estate. He has been married for almost 20 years to his wife Patricia Watson, a practicing lawyer, and has three children. Brian and Patricia live in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
